The Cup Of Triumph

Cup Of Triumph

"The Cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the Communion of the blood of Christ? The Bread which we break, is it not the Communion of the body of Christ" (1Cor 10:16)?

There is no other religious event or celebration greater then the observance of the Passover of Jesus Christ our Lord. Everything in our Christian faith of the New Covenant is bound up in the Cup and Bread. This is so vital and important to a life of Triumph Jesus said these words:

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed (John 6:53-56).

Ye have no life in you!

That is a statement not easily set aside.  The observance of the Lord's Passover has been minimized by most Apostolic Ministers as just a ritual done on black-eye pea night, new years eve.  There is some attempt by most to make it a solemn occasion but the salvation importance is not a doctrine taught.  Why is it that this observance gets less attention then hobo-night on halloween?  Why is it the Lord's Cup gets less respect then a Pastor's Anniversary?  Why is unleavened bread is not served but instead leavened crackers, pinches of white leavened bread, or leavened bity bites purchased at a Bible book store?  Why is it Apostolics cannot get this one simple celebration right and done in an honorable and respectful manner?

After years of thinking about the slothful manner in which the Lord's Passover is observed, I prayed to Jesus that he would reveal to me the glory of his Cup.  I wanted to see the revelation of triumph in this Cup.  And at last I saw it.  The Lord opened up my eyes.  I am struck with humility as I think of it.  There is no greater revelation in the Word of God then that of the Lord's Cup.

The Cup of Triumph!
